I belive that life is short and faith, family and
friends are the most important thing. True friends are a rare commoditiy in this world and when you are blessed to have
true friends they are worth holding onto. It is because of my beliefs and our partnership in business, that I decided to share
how it all began and evolved into what it is today. I want people to understand the type of friend Jona is and the impact
she has had on my life. As far as sharing it with anyone who cares to read it, I guess it is just a window into who we are ,
what we are about, what we are striving for and our plans and goals for the future. Plans that include eventually moving to
another state and purchasing ajoining property, so we can work more closely on our programs. At this point we live over 6
hours apart and most of our business is conducted by phone, e-mail and visits when we can. It may seem like a strange
thing to put on a website but I often am asked questions by people that contact me about our association, since they see that
I am promoting her kennel and sell her puppies, and she does the same for me. I suppose at first glance it seems unusual
to people that a breeder would promote another kennel, so that is why I decided to add this page and share our story.
It all started a little over 3 years ago, in Tulare California
at a Wild Horse and Burro Adoption. My husband and I had decided his 19 year old gelding was ready to retire from our summer
Mountain pack trips and decided to adopt a mustang as a replacement mount. We drove to the adoption grounds the evening prior
to the adoption to take a look at the horses that would be availiable. While walking from corral to corral, we were approached
by a big smile and the offer of information on the different herd management areas the horses had come from. Jona and her
husband both devoted voluteers had made the 5 hour trip to help out with the adoption. As Jona talked about the horses her
love and knowledge of the animals was immediately obvious. The next day my husband and I returned and adopted not
one but two mustangs. While waiting to process our paperwork I was again approached by Jona's big smile asking me to point
out which horses we adopted. Who would have ever guessed that that would be the start of a lasting friendship and business
venture. It was around four months later during a compliance check to see how the horses were doing that we were told BLM
had done some DNA testing on the herd our horses had come from and found them to have markers for old world Spanish and that
due to their dwendling numbers a volunteer had started a registry to try and preserve these wonderful horses and the heritage
they represent. I once again found myself talking to Jona. She educated me about the Carter Reservoir Herd and I was quickly
on board to help preserve the herd.( You can read all about these magnificent horses by going to Jona's Carter Mustang
Link). We talked almost every day and our relationship soon became a friendship that went beyond just the Carter effort. We
share common family and faith beliefs as well as our love of animals and the desire to own and raise wonderful animals and
share them with others. So what it all boils down to, is two close friends working together to support eachother through all
the road blocks life throws our way and breeding and placing awesome puppies into wonderful homes. Friends, family, values
and love !!! What could possibly be more inportant than helping the ones to care about to achieve their dreams and reach their
goals. Its what real friends do !!! And Jona is as real of a friend any one could hope to have.
So now you know.
Angelic Paws and Wild Wind Farms two friends working together to make our dreams come true !!!
